SUBJ: Procedures for
Reporting Compliance Concerns
I am writing to advise you of Virginia
Commonwealth University's Procedure for Reporting Compliance
Concerns, which can be found at:
www.vcu.edu/finance/compliance/ComplianceConcernsProcedure.pdf
VCU
is committed to conducting its operations in accordance
with all
applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
and I am pleased
that the great majority of our operations are conducted
in such a manner. However, sometimes misunderstandings
or errors result in practices that might not comply with
established requirements. Accordingly, the University has
developed a set of procedures to provide employees with a
variety of ways to report concerns regarding university activities.
In general, the procedures suggest that
employees work through their
department head, dean or director, or vice president
to resolve any
concerns. Where that is not possible due to the nature
of the matter or
other considerations, the procedures provide for reporting
the concerns to
designated personnel in Audit and Management Services
or the Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance
and Administration.
This procedure does not apply to concerns
related to research subjects.
All concerns in this area should be reported immediately
to the Research
Division's Office of Education and Compliance Oversight.
I
encourage you to become familiar with these procedures
and use them as you believe
necessary. If you have any questions or need additional
guidance, please contact the co-chairs of the University's
Compliance
Committee.
